Carbon is setting the standard for sustainable building practices and energy-efficient homes

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet elit

Every Carbon Home is thoughtfully designed to reduce environmental impact while creating an exceptional ‘living experience’ for you focused on health, safety, and long-term well-being. At Carbon, sustainability isn’t just a trend - it’s a core value.

Extraordinarily energy efficient

Carbon Homes are meticulously engineered to be incredibly energy efficient. There are no hot or cold spots, no drafts, and no room for rot, mold, mildew, or pests. Carbon Homes feel solid because they are solid. Our rigorous building approach gives us a level of control over the indoor environment that other builders can’t match - resulting in a ‘living experience’ that’s defined by complete, contemporary comfort. And this superior performance doesn’t necessarily cost more - it simply comes from better design.

Resilience That’s Built In

At the core of every Carbon Home is a structure built for true resilience. Our preference is to build with steel and Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), which are engineered to withstand earthquakes, fires, and hurricanes with ease. And if we are building the standard ‘stick-built’ equivalent, we take the approach to new levels in terms of detailing, energy efficiency and craftsmanship. Our walls and floors are excessively insulated - we’ve even been known to install radiantly heated slabs in crawl spaces - because we believe every inch of your home should be perfect.

And when it comes to durability, we go more than the extra mile. For example, where most builders do one layer of waterproofing on an exterior wall, we do three: A painted-on bituminous (asphalt-based) waterproofing membrane, a 1-inch-thick DPI protection board, and a dimple board to create an air gap and added drainage layer. We field-tested this approach in extremely wet conditions and found it to be completely watertight. And we take this obsessive approach to every part of a project. It’s this commitment to performance that means we can guarantee superior results.

Sam’s Pound Ridge Home

Sam’s Carbon Home in Pound Ridge is a standout example of our resilient, energy-efficient approach. The ICF walls are R-70 rated (over four times more efficient than standard wood framing) and are paired with R-8 triple-pane European windows (three times more efficient than standard US. models) for superior thermal performance. A geothermal HVAC system with radiant floors and forced air offers year-round comfort, with tax credits making the setup cost-effective in just two years. Advanced air and water filtration systems ensure purity, while interior lime plaster helps sequester carbon and improve air quality. We used no VOC paints or toxic glues, and all plumbing materials are carefully selected to minimize plastic. The result is a quiet, healthy and comfortable home that proves that sustainability and luxury can coexist beautifully.

Carbon Homes represent the future of custom contemporary living; built to last, designed to perform, and crafted with care for people and the planet.
