Carbon and Further Architecture are sculpting a curved concrete addition in Redding, CT that echoes the rock ledge opposite. Featured in CT Insider.
A home on Indian Hill Road in Redding, Connecticut is getting an addition unlike anything on the street.
Working alongside Further Architecture principal Justin Towart, Carbon Custom Builders CEO Sam Fertik and his team are sculpting a convex concrete facade designed to echo the natural rock formation directly opposite on the property.
The project, dubbed "The Veil", was featured in CT Insider in May 2026, and it's a compelling illustration of why concrete is finding a new audience in residential architecture. Precise in form, resilient by nature, and impossible to replicate in any other material. As Sam puts it: "You just can't do this with anything else."
