About the project

Cantilevered retreat reimagining a 1960s mountainside home

This project is still under development, follow us on social media for updates.

Crafted in collaboration with Kevin M. Kudo‑King, Principal/Owner at Olson Kundig, the Cantilevered Mountain house is an avant-garde residence that seamlessly integrates modern design with the natural landscape.

Set amidst 14 acres in northern Westchester county, this home reimagines the spirit of the original 1960s structure that once stood on this granite mountainside. Expansive steel and glass volumes float effortlessly over a stone-clad lower level, creating a harmonious dialogue between solidity and transparency.

The residence features open living spaces with soaring 14-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling Reynaers windows that frame breathtaking southern views of the lake and valleys below. Thoughtfully designed interiors include bespoke millwork, custom wood ceilings with integrated small-aperture speakers, and Gaggenau appliances throughout. Sustainable features such as geothermal heating from eight 500-foot wells, solar and battery readiness, and a concealed generator enclosure reflect a commitment to energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact.
